What’s holding you back from creating the type of life you really want to live?
When we’re kids, being authentic is easy…
When we’re little girls out playing with our friends, exploring our backyards, and looking at the world with fresh eyes — everything seems possible…
We don’t overthink our choices, and we don’t worry a whole lot about our future — instead, we have freedom to enjoy the present moment.
Then we grow up, and sometimes life hits us hard…
You’ve probably been there yourself: so busy with day to day responsibilities — putting in the hours at work to make your employer happy, helping the kids and spouse at home, getting involved in your community…
Basically, you’re so busy taking care of everyone EXCEPT yourself, that you struggle to find the time and energy to make any sort of big change to your life…
The idea of taking on anything new feels daunting, like it might upset an already delicate balance…
In fact, a lot of women tell me that’s the struggle they face. They say things like:
“I slowly became disconnected from what I wanted and actually stopped allowing myself to want. Now I don’t even know what I want anymore.”
“Inside, I know there’s more for me. I just don’t know what it is.”
So, what is it that causes this sense of overwhelm as we grow into adulthood and live out our daily obligations?
Here are some common reasons why we might hold ourselves back without even realizing we’re doing it:
- Perfectionism: So often, we feel the need for everything to be “perfect” before we move ahead with anything new…
We want to have more time… more money… more education or training…
And when thinking about our goals, we wait for the “perfect” time in order to start: We tell ourselves that “Once I get that promotion I’ll feel more settled and then I can do it,” or that “I just need a raise, and then I’ll be ready.”
- Fear: Often, the idea of uncertainty — of starting something new without a guaranteed outcome — can be scary…
- Confusion: Maybe you’re too busy and your mental space is filled up by too many obligations and responsibilities — so much so, that it’s difficult to imagine adding anything else to your already-full plate…
- Guilt: Maybe you’re worried about what others will think… about getting a “Who do you think you are?” response, or being viewed as selfish for doing something for yourself…
And, maybe deep down, some part of you agrees with the critics, and wonders if you really deserve to make a positive change.
- Avoidance: Do you put everyone else’s needs — responsibilities to your kids, partner, friends, family, and co-workers — ahead of your own needs? Do you ever give too much of yourself, and not allow yourself to recharge?
- Doubt: Imposter syndrome is all too common — and even strong, capable women often have a little voice in their head that tells us “You can’t do this — so you might as well not even try.”
All of these things can hold us back… sometimes on an unconscious level that we don’t even realize until we take the time to really go deep and discover those little voices that sabotage us.
But here’s the good news…
Those voices, concerns, excuses, and everything else that prevents us from daring to be our authentic selves — they can be conquered…
The first step is to rediscover your power, and realize that you have a choice.
When you learn how to silence your negative self-talk, your power really is limitless.
I’ve seen it time and time again in my workshops — women who make major shifts in their life, like finding their calling, launching a dream business, or finding love they had only dreamed of…
Women like Jennifer, who said:
“Early in the workshop Kimberly stopped and looked at us and said ‘No one here is broken, you are all whole just as you are, you are enough just as you are at this moment’. It was as if a weight was pulled off of me.”
Or Cynthia, who told me:
“I was deeply moved by the honesty, vulnerability and desire for change in the women of the workshop. Kimberly propelled each one of us to a new place of realization and resilience.”
There’s a reason why I know how to overcome those little voices, and help other women to do so, too — it’s because I’ve been there myself, maybe right where you are right now…
But for me, making a change didn’t happen by choice — at least, not at first. Instead, I went through a major wake-up call: three tragic events one right after the other, that pushed me nearly to my breaking point.
That was the catalyst for me to finally look inside myself… to be honest with myself for the first time in years.
And in the process, I re-connected with my true self… my fearless inner child who wasn’t afraid of anything!
And out of my journey came the life of my dreams — a life I love waking up to every day. I really feel like I’m living out my soul’s purpose. And I’m overwhelmed with gratitude at the sense of fulfillment and happiness I receive.
I want you to have this feeling, too. But, I don’t want you to experience a wake up call like I did…
Instead, I want to help you discover your authentic self, and your true purpose, right now!
I know you can do it, no matter how busy or overwhelmed you feel, and no matter what you may think is holding you back…
No matter where you are right now, you can make a big change in your life and discover what makes your soul sing…
It’s possible when you have a proven, pragmatic process to guide you through it all… and the support of like-minded women who can help motivate and inspire you along the way.
I call my process DAREChange — here’s how it works,
in 4 steps…
Discover your power and learn what limits you.
Articulate what you really want.
Reframe the HOW by adopting a new perspective.
Execute it and make it happen!
I make my DAREChange workshops available online — but, for maximum benefit, see if you can carve out time to attend in person. That way you can really connect with other like-minded women, and cheer each other on during transformation, life-changing revelations, and belly laughs together!
The first workshop in the series is coming up at the end of March: the Discover Your Power Workshop.
Here, you’ll be empowered with:
- The knowledge of what specifically limits you from getting what you want.
- Mindful techniques to silence your negative talk.
- Pragmatic tools you can apply right away to unleash your best, and start living more powerfully today.
You can learn more about it, and reserve a spot, here.
Hope to see you there! In the meantime, be sure to check my blog for even more tips and insights on how to overcome whatever is holding you back, and live your own authentic, joyful life.
